Not an idiot. You know they say it about many kids; you are just too busy thinking about your own kid at that moment and being proud.

OP here - that makes sense. I definitely notice that the boys in her class overall have more trouble, apart from one or two that are more reserved. I guess I should enjoy this as I am guessing this dynamic gets reversed in the teenage years.

I have two boys and one girl. The boys get a lot of good feedback, it's the girl who gets the negative feedback. Nobody has ever wished there were two of her. She's also the one with ADHD.

They are NOT saying this to everyone, particularly in that age group!

This is the age when hyperactivity is at its peak, both for those who will later be diagnosed with ADHD, but also in developmentally normal kids. They're just learning to socialize as a group and most don't yet know how to sit still and listen.

So yes, please believe the teacher.

Eight. Op, she doesn't cause problems. Stays on task or easy to redirect, isn't overly disruptive, etc. Friendly.

The teacher is absolutely saying this about other students.

Hmm sounds like a you problem. I have a boy and I constantly hear positive feedback about him.

At home, my 5 yo is sweet and cute but also a bit of a handful, like I assume most 5 year olds are. She has done a bunch of activities over the years, goes to daycare and also has had a few therapists due to some delays. A lot of times the teachers/therapists have spoken effusively about what a joy she is to work with. I feel a bit proud when they say this. Am I a idiot for thinking they don't just say this to everyone?
