For those who said they prefer a crossbody for all day walking excursions on travel, what bag do you prefer? I am thinking I may purchase the large Le Pliage to use as my carry on, and also a smaller crossbody for days out and about.

I love my large one for day to day. I used to have a smaller one (I think the medium?) and it worked well but there were times I would be traveling or wanting to carry extra stuff like a water bottle or umbrella, and it looked overstuffed.

It is kind of annoying that there aren't many pockets so the purse is kind of like a black hole, but that's the trade off for being so lightweight, which was really important to me. Heavier bags were killing my shoulder.

I keep my wallet inside a pouch that has a keyring for my keys. This allows me to switch bags easily and not worry about whether any given bag is a black hole.

My large Le Pliage is my most-used bag, as I use it for shopping hauls and carrying an extra jacket/sweater to places with strong AC. I like that it is very lightweight, looks fairly polished, and can take a beating. That being said, I do not like to carry it for all-day walking excursions. For this, I would take a cross-body or backpack.

I have the medium one and like it. It is super lightweight, waterproof and I don't find it hard to find things (but I only carry a wallet, phone, keys and a small zip pouch with lipstick, medicine and random pony tail holders. It is great for travel because you can carry random stuff in it and it doesn't kill your shoulder.

Also I got the backpack version for traveling and love it

This is how I use mine - mostly as a gym bag, sometimes for shopping. I always travel with it, but I take another handbag. If I don't use it as my airplane bag I fold it at the bottom of my suitcase for overflow, just in case. I love it! Just don't think it will substitute for a handbag. They are indeed different. I do take it for a day bag and put my wallet in there if I'm touring a city, doing a bit of shopping, and want to take a bottle of water and an extra layer or umbrella. I have a large (the size down from the one with the expandable zipper).

I like the expandable ones for travel. They have a little more structure when zipped and a lot more depth when unzipped.

If you’ve never used one before, make sure they don’t slip off your shoulder once they have a little weight in them. Some people have that problem.

They’re so lightweight, you may just want to get a large and a small one, especially if you like a good crook-of-the-elbow bag. The tiny crossbodies are fantastic too, and weigh nearly nothing, even in leather.

I have both and use my Medium one for day to day with more regularity. Yeah it can be a pain to look for stuff with only the key pocket but it’s not too bad.

See, our ( I say this because my mother’s the one who actually has one, but I bought it for her) experience is way more positive. Now, she’s a senior so maybe doesn’t need to have all the compartments for diapers, etc that PPs are resenting the lack of. She has the medium, and loves that it’s super lightweight, folds flat and so it is like an extra purse in her bag ther purse, or in her bag when she’s travelling. She’s also not super gentle on her bags, which proves that it is DURABLE.

I have the large ones and I only used them as diaper bags. Unless you get one of those organizer inserts they’re pretty useless.

I have one that I use as a shopping/tote bag when traveling. The lack of pockets is a pain for using as a handbag day to day because it’s basically just a black hole. I have the large size.

I have one and over the years have downgraded it to a gym bag. It’s so useless, with only the one small key pocket. I’d buy any brand that has more pockets and utility, especially for travel when you need to keep ID/phone/passport/keys/liquids/parking tickets and other essentials organized and handy.

I’m thinking to get a Le Pliage tote to take on an upcoming trip, and of course continue to use afterwards.

I am hopeful a few questions can be answered.

Do you prefer the medium or large size when using throughout the day as a handbag, say walking around the city for the day to evening. I would use this as my carry on bag on the airplane, too.

I believe black or dark blue will be most versatile for my needs. Nordstrom sells a color called Marine and Bloomingdales sells a color Navy. Longchamp site sells only Navy. Is the Marine the same as Navy, or is that color specific only to Nordstrom?
