The answer is always to ask your son what he wants. A teen boy, especially a middle school boy will have a specific style and anything else will be wrong.

My son is a little older but only wears Nike slides. My nephew wears light colored crocs or fake Yeezys. I know you want to surprise him a gift, but he really needs to pick whatever he thinks is in.

White for most kids in our MS. Sometimes kids wear one color on each foot (trading with a friend).

My son has navy blue classic crocs. He does not wear them to school, though. Only wears them to/from sports things and sometimes around the house or quick trips to the store.
