FYI I think El Tovar guests can make reservations 90 days in advance while guests at other lodges can make reservations for dinner 30 days in advance.

We stayed at Kachina last summer. The AC was really weak. The techs came out 3 times over the evening and couldn't figure it out.

I think El Tovar is worth $50 more than Kachina but I am a sucker for the old NP lodges (and it’s nice to eat dinner there).

IIRC the difference between Maswik and Kachina is more that Maswik is a few minutes walk away so not sure it’s worth the extra cash (but I could be remembering wrong and we didn’t stay at either).

We are booked for one night next week at Maswik Lodge. I just checked and there is a room available at Kachina for $100 more. It seemed like not worth it for one night but now I'm wondering (El Tovar is also available but for $150 more).

Opinions?
