I didn't like the Rosewood and the Loren was good but crowded with NYers and the pool was too small. I have not stayed at the Regis as I heard the layout was terrible and I don't love giant box hotels on the beach. Prefer cottages. At Cambridge, ask for the Westerly Suite (there are three - all are fantastic) or Longtail One BR OR get one of the standalone cottages with private pool (I like Bay Grapes). Not all rooms are equal there so call and get them to reserve the best for you.
Cambridge is also close to Dockyards with restaurants and shopping. For casual food, go to Woody's for amazing fish sandwiches (national dish). For fancy, I'd go to Huckleberry in Hamilton for an awesome meal. Ask to sit on the patio. If you go in the summer, there are festival nights on Wednesdays and the whole main strip is closed down with music, food and vendors.
I could go on and on....

The whole trip was booked pretty spontaneously using the American airlines reward fare sale so we didn't have lots of lodging options but upon further research I'm thinking we might have ended up at Pompano Beach anyway.
What will the temps be like?
Daytime temps should be in the 70s. DH and I are avid beach goers and not put off by water temps in the high 60s (that's warm by my New England standards), so while I know it won't be hot we're still looking forward to this as an easy spring beach trip.
