I lost 35 pounds over a year. It was 99 percent diet. Exercise is not the way to lose serious weight.

I am eating less than I was before and have cut out breads/alcohol, but I travel often for work so am eating out more than I would like to be, though I have been boxing half my meals. I realize its all about calories in vs calories out, but I was basically sedentary prior and I have definitely made changes in my diet, so I feel like I should see something. For those who have been here, how long was it before you noticed a change or started losing weight?

3 weeks?! You're just getting started, hon. Keep it up and come back to us in 3 months.

Vigorous exercise is great for the heart. Good cardiovascular health is also important as we age.

See a doctor. You may have insulin resistance.

Weightloss isnt always linear. My DH was mad because he wasn't losing lbs on the scale, but somehow his belt was 2 notches less, so clearly something was working!

Exercise really changes the composition of your body. Nutrition is what loses weight. The exercise will make you LOOK better (and likely feel better!), so keep it up! You'll get there!

Good for you for working out!
Im 43 and hqve slowly been putting on a lb here and there. I only notice a drop ifi stop eating bread/pasta for a week. No matter the amount of working out.

Eating out is probably adding calories too.

You need to eat less. It's not that complicated.

Are your clothes fitting looser? I'm early 50s now and I find that the older I get, the longer it takes for the weight to start dropping. But as long as my clothes look better on me, I try not to focus on the actual weight as much.

Just do mostly weights. You need to build muscle then work on hiring heart. I also doubt you are burning 400 calories a session.
