No, my PCP is really on top of things I guess. She actually ordered the first test that ended up necessitating the MRI, which she also ordered, but both she and my GYN got the results. GYN didn't call me and also didn't post the results to their portal.

So sorry OP, no experience but I have some health anxiety and worry about things like this. Sending positive and healing thoughts and hope you get through this.

If it helps to hear good news stories, my mother was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer 5 years ago. She's doing really well!

Op I’m sorry to hear this and I know it’s scary. I dont have good advice except try to focus on one foot in front of the other.

If it helps: My family member had stage 3c ovarian cancer, did surgery and chemo and is cancer free/no recurrence almost 7 years later.

I’m sorry, OP. No personal experience with possible ovarian cancer (although I am a breast cancer survivor), but I want to send you good thoughts and hope for the best possible benign outcome! Hopefully others are more helpful.

I'm so sorry about this. No news is good news. Of course get your records and imaging soon but maybe it's not urgent. The only time I ever got bad news (cancer) they called me and tracked me down ASAP.

OP with an update - my Dr. called this evening. She's really pretty attentive in general. I wasn't surprised by what she told me - "suspicious for cancer." And my understanding is that I won't have a full picture of what I am dealing with until surgery and pathology. I'm trying to hold it together but I'm very scared.

If anyone else has dealt with this - how quickly did they schedule your surgery?

I forgot to ask her to put the results in MyChart, but sent a note to her and I am sure they will.

They legally have to release them to you.

Once when I was really worried about test results and didn’t feel like I could wait, I called the office and explained just that. I got a call from my doctor soon after. They are human. As long as there is a fairly legitimate reason to be concerned and you don’t do that all the time, I think it’s ok. Hugs, OP.

Send a message in My Chart - so it's documented - and ask the Dr. to place the MRI report in your chart so that you have time
to read and consider the results before you meeting on Friday when you'll have a chance to hear your Dr's thoughts and ask questions. It is your legal right (CARES Act, I think) to have test results immediately - they cannot be withheld because your Dr. wants to explain them or because your Dr. is generally worried that you might be worried or react badly to the results (unless the reason is based on very specific evidence, like - patient said she would kill herself if she had cancer".)

I feel you OP, as I had this happen over a weekend once and it was agony. What if you call and say you want to go over the results with your regular dr but she is booked so can she call you asap? Better yet, send that dr a message through My Chart and say that to her.

I would want that result ASAP so keep pushing. I'm sorry that the blood test wasn't all clear. I'm dealing with a similar gynecological situation and the path to surgery and steps invoved is a lot to handle.

I had a pelvic MRI for my ovarian cyst on Monday and have my follow up GYN appointment on Friday. The MRI results are in and my primary care Dr. tried to call earlier but missed me. I called back but haven't talked to her and she hadn't put it in MyChart.

I didn't post here that my blood test was not "clear." It was right on the cusp for cancer indicators.

I am really anxious. I'm not sure if it would be better for me to see it if it's bad news or wait. I think I'd like time to digest it before going into an appointment. Oh, and the kicker is that the GYN I am seeing Friday I have never met before. She's new to the practice, but the Dr I normally see is totally booked.
