It's true that I don't listen to them as much since they've traveled into DEI territory much of the time, with (ironically!), very little diversity of arguments.

But it's important we keep a free and nationally available radio news source! For the good of the public.

Me again. For me their nadir was a year ago when I heard an interviewee, introduced as a Black woman (director of something or other), saying that cryptocurrency was a way for Black people to surmount the inequities of the financial system.

How many Black people lost their savings with that comment? Not too many, I hope.

I enjoy most programs - Science Friday, Marketplace, some local area shows they do. Supreme Court coverage is good as well.

I've hated their man in the street interviews for 20 years now and its only gotten worse recently. Breathless reporting about micro-topics drives me bonkers too.

I agree, sadly. We were nonstop NPR listeners in our house and cars until after Trump won. It just got so obviously biased. (And we are super liberal!) Painful.

I am Republican and used to enjoy NPR. Since Covid it has become unlistenable.

If it still resonates with you, that's great. I find the premise "lost America's trust" to be overwrought. But, on a personal level, I have found over the past few years that I just can't with much of NPR's programming anymore. Some of the storytelling is still really good.

+1. I have been an NPR fan for years but can not stomach it since Covid.

Sadly, I agree. I stopped listening to NPR about four years ago. I naturally lean towards NPR's spectrum but it got too much for me.

Consider this viewpoint from a man who worked at NPR for 25 years:

https://www.allsides.com/news/2024-04-09-0723/media-bias-i-ve-been-npr-25-years-here-s-how-we-lost-america-s-trust

Do you agree with Uri Berliner’s view? Or is he wrong?
