You may be comfortable with Potomac Classical but if you want to consider a similar alternative Alexandria Classical Christian Academy might be worth looking into.

Wow. I would NOT be comfortable with that mission statement. They definitely have a certain type of population in mind.

Definitely steer clear. There are some deep seeded issues. Logos would be a better alternative if you want a collaborative model. There are many great Christian schools that are full time and quite a few co-ops in the area if you want to homeschool. I hope you find a school that works well for your family.

No. I've never heard of this school and I've lived in the neighborhood a long time.

Yes, it is housed in trailers built along side the church. If you are comfortable with a school that can show you the door if you make a comment they don’t like then by all means do sign up!

It what ways specifically do you believe a glorified home school is better than 95% of DC-area schools?

If you’re ok with that philosophy, why does it matter if they are in a church h building or not?

Wow.. that's intense. They also require homework before the parent interview as part of the admissions process.

Honestly, the school seems like a glorified homeschool situation.

The fact that it says it's "collaborative model" sounds like a homeschool co-op. Believe it or not there are plenty of people who are looking for that sort of thing. It's not for my family but I know lots of people who love it and a handful of new co-ops spinning up in the aftermath of the Covid-era homeschool explosion.

It is a form of a home school co-op. Kids learn at home twice a week and at school three times a week.

The have a donation request pop up when you first open the site, a donation request banner at the top of the page, and a donation request blurb at the bottom of the homepage. They seem kind of financially desperate.

Does anyone have a student who attends Potomac Classical Conservatory in Alexandria?

I am in the early phases of researching schools for my children...we are currently in D.C. Eventually would like to move to VA but not live very far out in the burbs. Therefore looking ar affordable/moderately priced private options.

This school looks fairly young, but thriving. I would love to know more about if you are happy with the academics, but also the parent community vibes etc. Oldest child would be K or 1st by the time we move.

Is the school located within the church building?

Thanks!
