Remember when Trump looked up without glasses and burnt his cornea? I wish it had been worse.

Ha ha! Same. Maybe the piece of shit will blind himself today.

Bring your colander outside and look at the shadows cast on the ground through all the tiny holes.

+1 on a pinhole viewer. That’s how I watched the last one and it’s a fun project for kids!

Presumably the pits of hell cannot suffer burns

Did he actually burn his cornea? I figured he escaped without incident because nothing ever happens to that guy.

Warby Parker's website say they're out of stock everywhere now, FYI, to save anyone a trip.

The Post had an excellent article today about what not to do tomorrow and included this -- Do not take a selfie with the sun behind you, over your shoulder; the sun's rays can still reflect off your phone screen and severely damage your eyes. I think that's an important tip since I'm betting a lot of us will figure it's safe to do selfies as we'd have the sun behind us. I'm going to make sure my teen and her friends are aware that selfies aren't safe just because you've got your back to the sun.

Also: There are counterfeit glasses out there, folks, and they can cause terrible damage if you use them. To test if your glasses are legit, put them on and look at an extremely bright light; you should see nothing but darkness. I put mine on just now and everything was totally black, even when I stood six feet from our super bright ceiling light.

No glasses, or the ones you got aren't legit? Make a pinhole viewer -- there are lots of templates online and it only takes a couple of sheets of paper. You don't view the sun itself through the pinholes; you look at the sun's image projected onto the paper.

Ditto 7-11. $4 according to my son’s science teacher, who just sent out a Remind note saying this.

They are selling them at various hardware stores and other places. Check Glen Echo Hardware and Strosnider's in Bethesda or call your local small hardware store.

So? It's not like the eclipse is a big deal, OP.

I’ve been pre-occupied helping my mom recover from surgery and working full time. I could not get glasses for the eclipse in time
