I had good success with Noom for a while, too. The articles my me more thoughtful and were helpful at first. They got repetitive. The coaching seemed like it was AI and not helpful (not sure if it still exists - it's been a couple of years). I did better with Noom than I am doing with My Fitness Pal.

I like myfitness pal.

Not sure what patterns you are looking to identify but it will break down calories eaten and macros.

Oh darn, sorry to hear it's not great. I was debating about whether to try it since I recently learned it was free with my health insurance. But I then was also wondering if somehow the insurance could use the info against me.

Give it a try if it is free. I think it is better for people who are 100% clueless on how to diet, track calories or eat to lose weight. As someone who knows those things I just found it annoying and thought the daily lessons were lame. I also did not like the calorie tracker in the app, but I was also used to and had years of data stored in My fitness pal.

Good choice on moving on from Noom. It’s very repetitive and doesn’t really analyze anything. The food tracking is also all over the place and seems quite inaccurate.

I got sucked in to pay for a year subscription, but am only using it for that reason.

Trainest is a new app—I haven’t really looked at this, but a friend shared it and said it was worth checking out.

Following because I have found Noom absolutely awful! It’s like an eating disorder waiting to happen for a ridiculous price.

WW. There are all of the annoying things that come with WW, but it works and it's easy.

Another vote for LoseIt

I love that it shows patterns found on days I eat less (and feel better)

I’m in the free 14 day trial for noom and don’t like it much. Does anyone have a better app for weight loss?

I’d like either —

Free and allow basic calorie and exercise and weight tracking — similar to what my iPhone does for exercise where I can see daily and weekly and monthly averages, but better integrated with calorie counting.

For a fee but provide more analytics as to what I’m doing right/wrong, maybe identify patterns I’m missing or suggest meals for me.
