Subject: Why didn't no one ran for Mayor in 2022?
Typos aside, I feel the same. Robert White was a nonstarter for me because during the primary he did things like suggest maybe we should close schools again for a Covid surge (in 2022!) and doubled down on stuff like "violence interruptors" and other proven ineffective means for addressing crime issues in the city. But then on most other substantive issues, his positions were indistinguishable from Bowser (who is good at not really having an opinion on things, so this is a negative aspect, not a feature).
I think I might have just not cast a vote in that primary? Or I voted for Bowser figuring at least she'd done a decent job with overall Covid response in DC (I think the testing, mask distribution, Covid centers, etc. were actually pretty good in DC compared to other places) and seemed committed to keeping public schools open, even if I find her infuriating generally and would prefer a leader more focused on solving problems than slapping their name on crap, which is her very favorite activity.
But White wasn't it. I as already getting pretty weary of the progressive wing of the council in 2022, and he was right in line with them. I want more practical problem-solvers, and I'm extremely tired of the virtue-signaling and pandering to small activist groups as a stand in for, you know, doing things. I miss politicians like Fenty who had a very positive, ambitious vision for the city and worked hard to achieve it. I didn't love everything he did, but he worked really hard to bring economic prosperity to the city, improve schools, and address crime. And it worked! We need that energy again.

Robert White ran against her in the primary, he just lost. (Trayon White as well, but he got a lot fewer votes.)

I voted for Muriel Bowser because no one really ran against her... Why didn't anyone want to ran ?
She was okay job, but it would've nice if they had another person runuing....
