Just be prepared to gain the weight back once you stop the diet. It’s near impossible to be truly sugar or carb free forever

I’m definitely prepared. Have you done this before? Any advice?

If you cut down all sugar , you will lose water weight instantly and that could be up to 7-10 lbs rather quickly but by all sugar , that also means no grains or legumes , and no vegs like corn, potatoes, carrots and no high sugar fruit like grapes and bananas .

You can eat berries, nuts, cheese, eggs, or meat, and leafy greens but not much else

Get a digital kitchen scale, and weigh and record everything you eat (everything!) on a calorie deficit app.

I find fasting two or three times a week, and otherwise eating til full (no tracking calorie intake), much easier and more effective for weight loss than constant calorie restriction. So in your shoes, I’d follow the Fung protocol and do two or three 42 hour fasts a week, and eat two big lowish-carb meals (with no snacking) on the other days, until I hit goal weight. Easily doable by June.

If you eat a really crap or high carb diet, though, the fasting will be miserable.

Set aside any talk of semaglutide. You’re not getting approved for 15 lbs and if you do you’re paying out of pocket and nobody has it in stock.

Focus on your diet because that’s how you lose weight. Track meticulously , then create a small deficit of 200-300 calories a day. Make sure you get .70 grams of protein per pound of body weight and 25 g of fiber a day. Strength train 3-4 days a week and walk 8-12k steps a day and it will come off. .5-1 lb a week is your goal because that’s the most sustainable rate of loss and would be true fat loss - if you go too drastic you’ll starve for 8-10 weeks and then immediately put it all back on.

Yup, the easy way out. What if the OP is wants to do it through diet and exercise?

OP, I’m doing this. https://www.reddit.com/r/PSMF/s/UERpaZsaY9

I don’t have a goal weight or timeline, just want to quickly jumpstart some fat loss. I’ll switch over to a more reasonable approach after a few weeks depending on how I feel.

Clearly it is possible because lots of people are doing it on Wegovy, etc.

I'm not saying you should go on one of those. But if you have the will power, this shows that it is physically possible to do by eating a lot less.

I did it last year using Ozempic. An inch shorter but was heavier so started at 28.5 BMI. I lost 20 lbs between mid March and mid June. I lost more after that, but more slowly.

I’m a F, 5’9 and 170lb, my BMI is 25.1, so .1 into “overweight”. I’ve been consistent at the gym since January, but I’ve lost only 6lb, but I have gotten stronger and built some muscle. I’m ready to really get serious for summer, especially with my diet, which hasn’t been perfect. But before I discourage myself, is it even possible for me to lose 15lb at my size in 2.5 months?
