Drove to Williamsburg and stayed at one of the "resorts" around that area that offer a few amenities. Got the springtime pass for Colonial Williamsburg / Busch Gardens for ~$125 per person that allows unlimited visits to either place for a week. Bounced back and forth between attractions, swam in a pool, played mini golf. Very cheap and really low key. We could do as much or as little as we wanted and had a short trip home.

NYC for 3 nights. MoMA, see a show, central park, top of the rock, statue of liberty, and lots of good food. Either take the train and stay in Manhattan or drive and stay in NJ by a PATH line. Best part of a short trip like that is you still have time to relax and catch up with things at home also.

We did an all-inclusive and it was surprisingly good and relaxing. I booked resort, flights, transportation to/from resort and a tour on one day. I don't think the planning could have been easier.

Direct flight to Cabo (we live in Denver) with airport transfer from hotel and breakfast buffet included in our room rate and free kids club (Hilton Los Cabos). Great pools, small swimable beach and spa on site, decent food. We'd put the kids in kids club in the AM while we relaxed and then have lunch with them and play in the pool or beach until dinner time. We went offsite a few times for a boat trip and dinners and getting Ubers was easy. Passport control in both airports were a breeze.

Just drove to Bethany beach! Rented walking ti the beach, did indoors stuff when weather was crappy and did the beach when the weather was fine. Just so enjoyable and restful!! So easy. Kids didn’t swim but they played in the water the two hot days and we go karted, hiked, arcades and more on bad days. Chill and easy. Best part is kids had a surprisingly great time.

I think easy spring break is either staycation with day trips or a trip to an AI with a pool and a beach. ymmv

We had an easy and relaxing trip to Grand Cayman for spring break. Direct flights. Hotel (Kimpton Seafire) had kids club, amazing spa, and all water gear (snorkel gear, kayaks, etc) were included.

We rented a car so we could leave the hotel to do some exploration on our own and it was easy to drive there because the island is so small.
