Yes of course! Dinner and cake! And if a big birthday a few friends too

Yes, because he's wonderful and deserves it and makes him happy. The kids make him a card, we give him breakfast in bed, the dog wears a happy birthday balloons, we take him to dinner, have dessert at home, etc. For his 40th I threw him a surprise party.

For me, not really because I hate concentrated attention on me and have always hated my birthday. I would have an actual happy birthday if we just ignored the fact that it's my birthday.

Yes, for a special one but for the others it’s a card and a nice dinner date. Same on an anniversary.

We do a couple of things.

During the week (whatever day works for our schedule) the other spouse and DS cook their favorite meal and dessert and we have a family game night, sing happy birthday, etc.

For my birthday (in the winter), Dh and I go away for a night in a city nearby and have a fancy dinner. Then we meet up with friends that live in that city.

For DH's birthday (summer) we have a lot of friends over our house. We used to cater it, but in the past couple of years between redoing our deck/backyard and DH accumulating more grilling stuff, he and his friends prefer to cook.

We get each other something small, and help DS pick out something from him. Neither of us are very big gift people and prefer the experience.

A little bit. I'll say happy birthday and we might get a special dinner or something. Some years I'll get a gift if I think of something good.
