It was a chocolate cake which inherently has caffeine. That's up to the consumer to know.
chocolate has much less caffeine than coffee. You can be nice and let people know.

While it’s true that chocolate has more caffeine per unit than coffee, I suspect there was much more chocolate in the cake than coffee. I don’t know which would ultimately contribute more caffeine to the cake.

You can order online easily. If you have Prime it will be a next day delivery for most regions.

You can most likely use instant coffee/espresso like Medaglia D'oro. I have a jar of instant espresso I used for certain recipes. Will be found in the coffee aisle of the supermarket.

Just use some Folgers instant coffee.

Pretty sure I found it in the baking aisle of my Harris teeter. (Arlington- Lee Harrison.) it was like $8 and I still haven't used it.

+1 - it's not in the baking aisle. What's the recipe? If you really can't find it you can use regular instant coffee.

Use instant espresso. Medaglio de Oro or similar. In a pinch a good dark roast instant coffee (Starbucks for ex) would work.

Anyone know where I could get espresso powder for baking locally in the DMV? I’ve tried Safeway/giant, etc. It says specifically not to use coffee grounds in this recipe but espresso baking powder. Thanks in advance!
