Got to tell you that in my experience Cocomelon is the favorite show of those with speech delays.

My kid is the same. We had to ban it in house. Are can watch anything else without a problem, but turning off Cocomelon makes her lose her mind.

Fwiw they’re all too scary for my three year old. Except Cinderella. The others we fast forward through a lot or get major bedtime fear issues.

Pretend Cocomelon broke. Remove that streaming device (Netflix?) from the TV they watch.

Quite disturbing.

Is this true? If so, horrifying.

We had a rule in our house that if turning off the TV after a set amount of time resulted in huge drama (a few complaints are okay, a giant tantrum is not), then we have to take a break from TV for a while (a week, a month, whatever felt right).

So if I were you OP, I'd be saying no more Cocomelon, and if they freak out, explain that you are doing it for their own good because no television show should cause a crisis to turn off. They are addicted to it and it's messing with their heads!

I use it as a drug. Literally anything else is better for kids. We like bumble nums

Cocomelon is one of the worst because there are so many quick cuts, it messes with kids attention spans. Daniel Tiger, Mickey, etc. don't do that.

IIRC, Cocomelon has focus groups with kids and they play it and then have a parent come in. If the child looks away, the scene is edited. Their goal is to make it so hypnotizing that kids can’t turn it off.

Quite disturbing.

Anyone else have screaming dc when it’s time to turn off Cocomelon? I have a 6yo and 3yo twins and we’ve watched it a few times and they go crazy when I turn it off even with a warning. The same doesn’t happen with other shows (Sesame Street and Blippi are the only other shows we’ve tried), only Cocomelon. It leads me to believe this show has something weird going on with it and it’s definitely out of our repertoire.
