Wow OP, you are not even forty yet (!) & you already feel like you are reaching old maid status!!?
You are still relatively young!
I agree w/you - when I was younger, if I didn’t sleep well the night before, I could still pull off looking good the next day.
But now at 55, if I get a sh!tty night’s sleep, then there is just NO way I can even pull off looking halfway decent in the morning.
And yes, I also miss all the opportunities that were available to me in my youth.
That is probably the toughest part of growing old(er!)….
