That's what I'm thinking, too. I'm sure the kid is great. But the gpa is pretty much in the right range for GW and the scores are above range. I don't think that leads to yield protection. I'd go more with the essays. Frankly, I was starting to get worried about my kid's chances because I know she put way less time into the GW application, assuming it was an easy entry and she had so many others to focus on the same week.

When this sort of thing happens, it means they might have been a bit weak in their essays. I'm assuming the extra-curriculars were decent.

Did the merit aid come with the offer?
My kid got into Elliott with a perfect gpa and 35 act and everyone said they routinely Glauber large merit aid in those circumstances. Did not see it.
