Using a steam cleaner seems completely unnecessary. Just spray with a non acidic cleaner, lightly scrub and rinse.

Bumping this.

Any more reviews on steam cleaners? They are all over TikTok, and I have stubborn hard well water to clean off of showers and tile floors. I'm not willing to invest in a Dupray Tosca, but I was looking at their more affordable option.

Any other brand recommendations, or thoughts on steam cleaners?

I have the Harbour Freight steam cleaner. It really cleans my baths. The drawack is that it's bulky to use every clean. But once a month- yes. I use it all over my house. It's great on windows. But you have to wipe the steam water and dirt off after steaming the surface.
For me it cleans better. But equal or a little more work.

Mine works great, but I have an expensive model (a Dupray Tosca). I bought it to clean my very expensive custom Roman shades…paid for itself in one clean. There is a learning curve, but I find it fun actually.

No. Just hire a housecleaner. And if you have mold happening, hire a handyman to remove and replace the caulk. Or DIY.

We bought a steam cleaner at home Depot yesterday as it happens. Husband tried it in the shower and it did jack. Husband took it back

Thanks, I’m thinking of one of the ones with a larger tank that sits on the floor so I can clean a larger area. Are you happy with the job it does cleaning the shower?

Only issue is mine is too small and requires a lot of re-filling so it's really best for spot cleaning rather than whole shower (I'll often just clean parts of the shower and get tired and do other parts later).

My husband and I are getting on in years, both turning 50 this year. We are wondering about the practicality of using a steam cleaner to clean the tub and showers in our house. Can anyone speak to whether these work well and if so what kind do you have? I’m not really clear on what happens to the soap scum after you pass over it with the steam.

Are these devices worth it? I really don’t want to take up space in my house for a piece of worthless junk.
