I get that they are trying to fix bus issues but this is going to cause a lot of unintended consequences.
How will this impact athletics and after school programs (will kids be at school until 7:30 or will they move to AM practices, if AM, will they open the locker rooms and showers up that have been closed since pandemic, at the moment game times are staggered so that referees can officiate more than one game in a day, swim teams need to use the same facilities for practices and the capacity is enough because they can be staggered).
How will this impacts kids being able to participate in Dual Enrollment?
Will after care programs be expanded?
I wonder if they even talked to principals to see how these changes could impact their schools.
Maybe phase in the fewer bus stops next year and then reassess.
I'm going to write my Board member and express my concerns.
