100%. We're going to Ohio. After the eclipse in 2019, I was determined to see this one in totality. The next one won't be for 20 years, so there's more of a sense of "now or never," I guess. Kids are 12, 10, and 6, and very excited.

I would, we saw the last one on the east coast,. We are doing it again as a family trip.

I'm going. It's something to do, and a once-ish in a lifetime thing. Same reason I like to travel - see something new and different because the world is a big place and not just my little suburban town and suburban mom life.

The kids’ ages are everything. I would really like to do this but with our kids ages 6, 4, and 1 it’s just too much. If I had really planned ahead and booked plane tickets somewhere maybe, but that’s a long drive for us. It sounds incredible though.

I’m sure you’re right, I don’t have a job where I have the flexibility to get up there although I’m giving myself part of the afternoon off so maybe based on your comment will try to drive a bit closer

Do a search - already so many threads on this topic. As someone who drove to SC and saw totality in 2017, I don’t personally think it’s worth it. Others disagree.

Yes!!! I would check the forecast. If it’s going to be totally overcast, maybe don’t bother. Sunny or partly cloudy? Completely worth it. It’s amazing.

Would you take your kids and drive to upstate New York to watch the solar eclipse? My hometown is in the path of totality. I am wondering if it is worth it to make the 6.5 hour drive up there so they can see it.
