For SJC: I get the sense that students in the Scholar's program get very good college counseling.
Student's not in scholars might benefit from a college counselor.
Athlete's are a different conversation.

It didn’t seem at all geared toward DS, just generic. DS had middling grades and good test scores but definite (and reasonable) career interests and the guidance we received seemed like an afterthought, like the real guidance is reserved for kids with amazing scores and grades. We ended up hiring someone.

What should we be looking for in college counseling?

We have been impressed with Gonzaga’s CCO. Gonzaga’s Director of College Counseling used to be the Director of College Counseling at Sidwell Friends. The programs for students and parents leading up to senior year is robust. No complaints.

College counseling at Gonzaga is excellent. We planned to hire someone but quickly found out it’s not necessary

We were very happy with the CCO at Gonzaga. No need for extra help.

Every Catholic school we toured touted their college counseling and support (at no addl cost).

No - we are not paying for DS at Gonzaga. We have been impressed with their program thus far.

I believe the college counseling is part of the tuition

If you are a parent of a senior or junior, I’m wondering if you are paying for tuition and additional college counseling? I’ve heard that some parents pay tuition & for college counseling. Specifically looking for input from families at Gonzaga, SJC & Visi.
