Yeah, I've had it about 10 months now. I would not pay a dime for it, but I don't regret following it for free. I weigh myself everyday but I could do that without Omada. I tracked my food for about a month and then thought...what's the point. The coach didn't comment or, it's not there is a tool to analyze what you ate and show you the total calories or anything, so I was like...this is pointless after a while. Like another poster, it did provide some awareness to how much I was eating. The weekly "lessons" are very basic...like what is protein? Why do we need protein? Carbs? Last week was how a massage can help. Next week is about acupuncture. The coach is nice. We chat like twice a week. He asks "open ended" questions to get you thinking about health but nothing unique. He'll post discussions to the group and might get one response. Like...what can you do to get more steps in the day? People will post...park farther away in parking lots. Take the stairs. But he doesn't offer anything unique. And over the course of those 10-months, I think I lost 3 pounds as of this morning BUT my weigh normally fluctuates a few pounds each week so basically, it hasn't done anything for my weight and the coach has never commented. He'll ask me how it's going. I'll say...I haven't lost any weight. I'm eating to much. and he'll ask...why do you think that is? And it gets nowhere.

I was not impressed -- adn quit before the program started. None the less, they charged my insurance company $235 several days AFTER I told them I did not want to participate.

I am just about your stats and I did the intake quiz. I was rejected. I think your BMI needs to be higher.

I like it. I've been using the app for 4 months and getting weekly (or sometimes a few times a week) messages from my personal health coach. The food tracker is great for me because the focus is more on food quality, portion size, and just getting you to pay attention to your eating. There's not a bunch of fussy measuring food or tracking calories, which is way more sustainable for me. You are put in a 'Kickoff Group' at the start, and the idea is that there can be support and interaction, but hardly anyone participates in our group. Your personal info isn't shared with others in the group... just your coach can review your progress. The coach tries to throw out weekly questions to the group, but doesn't get much feedback. However, the coach has been helpful for me personally. They are a personal cheerleader, they help find ideas and tips for whatever weekly goal you set in the app for yourself, and check in with how things are going with you. The app also has weekly lessons you can read or listen to on different health topics. I think it's legit good info because it really follows good, solid science-based health info. It's not all diet and nutrition... there is stuff about stress-relief, getting support for your goals from people around you, other stuff like that. I give it a thumbs up and I'm going to stick with it.

There really isn't much of a program. An online message board that very few people use, and a coach who isn't any help. Scale is good.

I wouldn’t pay for it but it’s not a bad program. It just wasn’t motivating for me. DH and I both signed up and they sent us two scales. I couldn’t get into their program which is reading articles in the app and there’s a “coach” who sends recipes and information. It was just more email and online stuff I didn’t want to make time for.

The scale is great. I didn’t sign up for all the stuff that goes with it though, I feel like it might get used against me at some point. I know my health information is probably already out there, but I don’t want to hand it over.

Side note, even though I didn’t sign up on the appp or set up my WiFi on it, it still says “sent” on the scale after you take your weight. Not sure if it’s actually going anywhere though.

My insurance company is offering up this free weight loss program and I’d love any reviews.

I am currently 49, 5’5” and 160 pounds with a goal of 145 before I turn 50 (December).

On the positive, you have daily weigh ins which I think will keep me honest. On the downside, the online reviews aren’t great- or even good. But is that because it’s a weight loss program?

Has anyone used it recently and found it helpful? Are there any possible negatives to trying it?
