I do this. But I do have some highlights in the crown area as well.

Fascinating - I have not found anyone good in this area but I think the trick is to have tiny, tiny highlights which takes more time forthe stylist. I'd be willing to pay more for that because it makes a huge differnece.

OP your hair color is good for this though - you have an advantage over those of us with a darker base color. I have blond highlights to "blend" with the gray and in the end it's okay but either 1) gray or 2) looks like all the colors of the rainbow as my kids say they love (I don't).

I think the "model" makes a big difference. It's hard to be happy with the way you look as a middle age (or older woman). I think we are more generous to others but very hard on ourselves!

Don’t do this or your hair will look like an ashtray.

I am looking for recommendations for a hair colorist who’s great for blending my gray hair with high- and lowlights, ideally in MoCo or close by NoVa.
I’m abandoning my 9 months journey of going natural - I have pretty much all gray hair on the temples but the rest is dark blonde/light brown with hardly any gray. I’m 60 and just feel frumpy.
