There are different types of pralines. OP do you want the crispy kind or the soft kind. The velatis link definitely seem similar to Louisiana/Texas style soft pralines. As long as you order them with pecans. I don't know if there is anywhere in the DMV you can get "real" Louisiana style soft pralines.

Pralines and caramels are different. The feel is not the same. Pralines are soft and melt in your mouth.

And, as I’ve said below, Velatis has both SUGARY (the ones I suggested) and chewy caramels. They are different from each other. The sugary ones are similar to pralines — which I’m very familiar with. Have you actually tried Velatis sugary caramels? Or are you just assuming that they must be like the chewy caramels that you’re personally familiar with?

I agree, totally different. One is hard and chewy, the other is soft,sweet, and dreamy. Both are good, but different.

So neither one of you have had the SUGARY Velatis candies vs the CHEWY ones. It’s amazing how vehement people can be when they really don’t know what they’re talking about.

I’m glad I checked back though, since they are offered with pecans.

Traveling abroad in 2 days and a relative there wants pecan pralines. I see them on Amazon but won't arrive in time. Any place around here that sells them or makes them?
