stopped birthday gifts after college graduation. we still give wedding and baby gifts.

I received a lovely high school graduation gift from an aunt with a note saying something to the effect of she stopped giving regular/annual/birthday gifts after that (but she wrote it much nicer than I'm conveying). It made sense to me, and I wish her sister/my other aunt had followed suit rather than continue to give me tchotchkes and trinkets through my 40s. I only have one niece/nephew so I may continue through college, but it's just gift cards or money at this point.

We have 20 nieces and nephews. We generally only gave gifts if there was a party or if we otherwise were with them on their birthday. Seemed to work well for our family.

But 18 would have been reasonable, too

I only have one and plan to always acknowledge his birthday.

Just know that if you have young children that receive birthday gifts from their aunts and uncles, that will likely stop when you stop sending gifts to their children. It does not matter if your children are 1, 10 or 18.

Wish we had stopped after HS, but sibling said no. We will stop after college

I come from a family of seven with over 20 nieces and nephews. The only time we gave presents was if there was a party.

College aged. We tended to get them gifts while they were in freshmen/sophomore year (like dorm living type stuff or Uber Eats gift cards) but stopped once they were 20/21. We have 15 nieces and nephews so we had to draw the line somewhere!

Just make sure it's the same rule for each. It doesn't matter if you do age 18 or 2nd year of college or whatever. Just be fair. here is no rule other than not playing favorites.

Mostly now. Oldest are 23 yo. There are some youngers who will still get a card/gc.
