That’s a good way of putting it.

My guess is he rarely sees women as attractive as that woman must have been. That's probably true for most people in their 40s/50s that they rarely see very attractive people, it's not like being back in college where there are a decent number of attractive people around.

Female here - my BF looks at attractive women when we are together. He thinks I don’t notice but I always do. I don’t let it bother. At all. In fact I will often bring up something like someone’s nice car, nice shoes, etc. because men don’t compete with other men over looks but they do when it comes to money. My man never cares if I look at other hot men. He does compare himself to other men when it comes to money.

We all notice the hot girls, we just do. But the rule is "don't get caught looking" as a matter of showing respect to your wife but also denying satisfaction to the young tart.

Why is it such a thing for men to always be checking out women? Is it just a "men are more visual than women thing" or is there something more to it?

I was at the park with my partner chatting on a bench when a runner passed us. It was a younger girl (26ish we are late 40s & early 50s) running in workout pants and a sports bra. She was attractive but you would have thought it was the pope tossing out money or something the way he was looking at her and broke his neck to continue staring. I thought about that moment for the rest of the day – do guys continue to think about that hot girl they saw running or the attractive lady who served them coffee? Or is it just a quick assessment of, they are attractive, I would bang her, and then they move on from that?

Women - how do you mentally move past this or not let it bother you? Am I just too sensitive?
