This. No matter what I do or don't do, my dog loves me. I love how excited she gets when she sees me. You can train yours not to jump.

I am the one with the 16 year old dog and I got the same reaction if I come home from a business trip or out of the bathroom.

My 15 or 16 year old dog did this until about a year ago, now he is deaf so he sleeps in front of the door so that he gets woken up when it opens.
