Many private have 3 teams. Even Mlsnext and ecnl players are on the Freshmen team in 9th, JV 10th. It’s very very rare for 9th or 10th to be on Varsity at some schools which even have Juniors playing JV.

A lot of ECNL/Mlsnext players quit HS at our school before Junior year. It’s too much with a busy Fall club schedule and tough academics at private.

PP Didn't even answer your question because it is so irrelevant. The answer like most roster decisions is-- it depends.

We’ve had freshman play varsity and JV. Depends on both the quality of the freshman and the numbers on JV and Varsity. Hard to answer!

Can anyone give me info on how many kids typically get moved up to JV from the freshman team and how many are cut.
