I always buy 2 jalapenos whenever I need any, because almost always 1/2 is not spicy. Literally yesterday I needed jalapenos and cut one, not spicy at all. Green pepper. Cut the second, blast your face off spicy!

Idk about them getting less spicy in general, but I'd suggest always buying extra.

There was an article on dish about how jalapeños are less spicy. The day before this article came out My husband and I were speaking about how bland the jalapeños were. I think I need to set up a garden to grow spicy peppers since everything in the market now is Plain and has no heat

I have been on the hunt for spicy lately, and I agree nothing ends up being as spicy as I want it to be. It is very disappointing.

They have been made more mild, we’ve started using spicier peppers from HMart

Agree - even the ones I grow - some are pure fire and others are barely spicier than a bell pepper.

I mean for restaurant or processed food, yes they are making it less spicy because people buy spicy things and then complain/return them etc. Thai/Indian in restaurants is downright bland now even if you ask for medium or spicy; the only want to get true spicy is to ask for Thai spicy/Indian spicy - i.e. what they'd serve customers of those ethnicities and many restaurants are still very reluctant to serve that to you if you are clearly not their ethnicity - bc people say they want that and when they get it, they complain and demand refunds.

As for jalapenos - IDK I've never found them spicy to begin with but if they were less spicy that usual, it's possibly just a bad batch (not bad as in spoiled but maybe picked too early or something).

I haven't lose my taste because I ate Spicy poke belly the other day and it had some hit.
I ate Jalapeños and noticed that it wasn't as spicy as once it was other, and noticed the same with some spicy tomatoes sauce I brought.. Are they making it less spicy?
