Yes but I want to be on the beach or right next to a beach, not schlepping mountains of stuff / gear blocks and blocks, looking for parking etc.

Lying on beach is not what I think of as “beach vacation”

I like vacationing on the beach but grew up always staying oceanfront at family houses and still only stay oceanfront.

If you're not staying oceanfront, I don't see the appeal as much, because I don't like having to walk far to the beach and haul chairs and sit in the sun all day and go back to a grungey beach house a few blocks away.

I like to sit in an oceanfront house and read and listen to and watch the waves, and go for a half hour swim once or twice a day by just walking down the porch stairs.

Yes, and no. I like the beach and think it is beautiful but absolutely hate heat and humidity. So I like it more in the off season or places like the PNW where the beaches are beautiful but not how. Overall though when planning vacations I would pick the mountains, skiing or hiking, over the beach.

I love the beach but after a few MOHS surgery I rarely visit the beach except around sunset. We live four houses from the beach.

No. Beaches are too hot when the water's decent. Feels gross to swim in salt water and rip tides and risk of drowning spoil the fun. I still remember my first facefull of salt water from Hawaii at age 5 and my kids crying "I don't wanna" on their first ocean trip.

I am a lake person. Drinking-water clean, rocky-bottom lakes. Grew up swimming in a lake called "The Queen of American Lakes" by Thomas Jefferson.

Ocean's main advantages are tide pools and seashell collecting.

Yes. Love the white powdery sanded beach with palm trees, also love local beaches at the DE shore. The kids (elementary aged) love playing on any beach, so it's always an easy activity to take them. We enjoy kayaking, fishing, sailing, and crabbing.

My personal favorite type of beach is calm water with good off-shore snorkeling. Roatan, Curacao, St. John, and Vieques are great for it.

Yes, very much so ... but I hate crowds. So it needs to be a quiet beach without too many people screaming/running/playing music.

I am a beach person and we spend the summer on Cape Cod, but I typically go to the beach for an hour or two. We spend time on the water in a kayak or SUP, or walk on the beach. I don't like to sit on the beach for hours.

Ugh. No. The only time I like the beach is in winter up north when there's no one, it's not sweltering, and I can walk next to the waves. I prefer rugged cliff coastlines, again, if it's not too hot for long walks.

I like mountains in the summer. Not too hot, climbing opportunities, lovely vistas, perfect.

I like the beach - but I agree that it is always associated with a vacation for me. I have considered moving to the beach but I don't think it would be the same if it was my real life.

I’ve a super fancy resort on a gorgeous beach person but otherwise I’m not a huge beach person, especially if it’s an okay beach like Florida or some random area. I’m envious of people who just love the whole
experience- sand, sound, waves etc. I grew up walking distance from the ocean so maybe that’s why?
