+1 I'm a lot older than you and have reached out to some and some have reached out to me. It's great!

I had a best friend in early elementary- we ended up with different groups and separate lives and vaguely stayed in touch on social media. Then a life changing event happened that bonded both of us and now we are close and talk every day and plan to vacation together this summer with our kids. 44 years old.

I moved away from my hometown when I was 14, then reconnected with my elementary and middle school classmates when I was 40. It was great to catch up and see what everyone was up to (we have a message group). Our lives have taken very different paths, but most of us relate over common life experiences of parenthood, caring for the elderly, work stress, etc. One thing we love going back to over and over is our shared childhood memories. Nostalgia gets stronger the older you get.

Now I'm 50, and we still keep this message group alive, though everyone posts a lot frequently now. There are ups and downs. Some fighting and verbal sparring have occurred over differences in beliefs and politics. But I don't regret finding them again.

Via FB, I reconnected with my closest friends from when I was 4 and when I was in in 2nd grade.

Not weird, it was nice!

I’d likely remember and would definitely be glad to hear from you.

I would remember the elementary group a lot better than upper years actually, because the class was so small.

A friend from kindergarten reached out years ago via Facebook. I didn't recall them at first . We are connected now.

Just this week, I found a "book" I'd made when I was five or six and classmates had signed it and written comments. Well, this person had signed it and written something nice too! I was amused to find this old book. I guess we all signed each other's books before the end of summer.

Anyway, why not reach out?

You never know until you try. I read someone's post on LinkedIn that I knew years ago. We had a call and that was enough.

We were in Girl Scouts together, went on respective vacations with our families, hung out at each other houses.

But it was a long time ago....

Just feeing lonely and like my early life didn't exist, I guess.

While random classmates may not remember you, your close friends will. Reaching out to your friends isn’t weird and I bet they’d be thrilled to hear from you.

I moved in fifth grade and lost contact with all my elementary school friends. Would it be weird to reach out and say hello? They wouldn't remember me, right? I'm now 42...
