Parents at the middle level don’t even come to open house. Their kids would be mortified haha. I have never heard of this and I’ve taught in multiple middle schools. Plus had a kid in another one.

My kids are in college but it existed for us. We stopped going after maybe 6th grade as the kids did not want us to come. I think DD really loved a hs teacher and wanted us to meet her so we went just to that class

It seems like such a waste of real instructional time and completely disruptive. I understand the Open House in October, but this seems excessive and quite frankly, ludicrous.

Never heard of this. I have one kid in HS and another in MS.

I've never heard of this, but I'd love to be able to do it - except that it would _really_ bother my kid. Probably better for DC that I should volunteer in various ways and places as I can.

That’s a little different than having 6 available days where any parent of any student can just voluntarily show up. It’s fine for students who can’t get it together or if a parent is concerned, but this is basically 6 days of Open House.

As a teacher, I love it! Just continue with normal instruction? I've had parents shadow when students couldn't get it together and it made a difference because they didn't want it to happen again.
