These kids need grip socks like I need my expensive golf clubs with my 845 handicap

Refs need to find meaningful things to care about. Caring about the grip socks showing below the cut colored sock on the calf is dumb.

My ECNL girl wears the grip socks. As a parent who didn't have this option as a kid, when I played sports, I think it's silly to wear grip socks and cut out the bottom of their colored socks but hey, whatever. That's what pros and kids do these days. Refs caring about this is stupid.

OP here - this is my point - literally everywhere else this is fine but the refs are adamant - even spoke to players after a scrimmage to let them know they “got away with it this time” (not exact match). It’s ridiculous.

Is there any way to petition to change?

There is usually a mechanism to suggest changes to the rules. Not sure how much a sock change will gain traction though! (see what I did there?)

The high schools function very differently then club soccer does.

Does anyone know why VHSL requires that grip socks must match the kit socks? Even the EPL doesn’t require this - it seems overly nitpicky.
