Not in the same way. There is no lower level in science.

Sidwell and other independents seem to be divesting from their football programs so it makes sense that smaller team sports will see increased resource allocation.

Gentleman's Cs keep them eligible without hurting class rank for the better students

Also, if you want to play D1, you don't need a 4.0. You can play for a lot of college programs with a 2.something GPA in high school

Not really...I mean strong HS tennis players come from UMC/wealthy demographics...it is super rare to have the profile of the Williams' sisters.

Those are really the only other top sports teams at Sidwell in addition to basketball.

How do they know which kids are going to be able to handle the academics?
More and more of the middle school players trying to make it into top programs are actually dropping out of middle for “homeschool” so they can train full time and to reclass. Kind of the opposite of what would be good prep for an academic- focused high school. Basketball is insane in the DMV.

They don’t build it in-house. They recruit from Takeover and Team Durant and other top AAU teams like everyone else

To have such a track record the program must have a strong pipeline. Am wondering where it feeds from.

Some of the top Catholic programs have long running summer camps and also have junior coaches coach AAU teams but haven’t seen the same from Sidwell so wondering where they find such top notch talent. Or do they build it in house?
