When are you going? This exhibit is fantastic but closing soon: https://childrensmuseumvirginia.com/events/36283

We just did Portsmouth for the day, but I'm sure there's other stuff to do or add VA Beach. Or stay in Newport News or Hampton and you have the Virgina Living Museum, Air and Space museum, Buckroe Beach depending on the season.

I'm of the opinion you can have fun anywhere, though.

We did Williamsburg a lot - Busch Gardens/Sesame Place. We stayed in a hotel with a mini golf across the street. It may be too late for this year, but you can get free passes for Virginia Residents under five, and then you get a season pass that includes parking, and it’s a great deal. Once in a while we would drive down for the day.

Sesame Place
Great Wolf Lodge
Baltimore - Children’s Museum and the National Aquarium - however strollers aren’t allowed in the aquarium due to the tight paths/lack of space. Not sure if that’s a concern for you.
Pittsburgh has a nice children’s museum as well and a decent amount of sight-seeing in the area

We actually have both a 2 year old and a 4 year old...

They don't live far enough for visiting them to count as a vacation. We see them weekly...

Pretty sure there aren't any a short drive from DC

Not all inclusive but Salamander (Middleburg, VA) and Bavarian Inn (Shepherdstown, WV) look promising.

When you have a toddler, you’re going on a family trip. There is no vacation with a toddler.

When our kids were toddlers, we enjoyed going to Rehoboth Beach.

What are some toddler-friendly vacation destinations within a few hours' drive of DC? We've visited and enjoyed Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg and historic Jamestown, Oglebay in WV, and Lancaster County in Pennsylvania (Dutch Wonderland, toy train museum etc.). Looking for other ideas that are easily drivable.
