I make my crazy cat into a burrito with a towel.

It took 2 of us. One to hold cats other to clip.
Vet tech who petsit for us could do it easily.

Cats generally don't like going places. OP do you have a vet near you that you use? Ask there if anyone does visits for claw clipping. You might find a good petsitter there too.

Can anyone recommend a home groomer?

What happens when you try and aren’t able to? What does the cat do that keeps you from being able to cut the nails?

Not the OP but the first time I tried to trim my current cat's claws I got bit. I knew the possibility of infection was pretty high with cat bites so I went to urgent care thinking they'd just send me home with antibiotic pills but they ended up sending me to the ER for IV antibiotics (and an xray). I've had cats before and had trimmed their claws with no issues. But I was out of practice and my technique was bad. Ever since then, I've been pretty hesistant to try trimming them again. And I probably would pay like around $15 bucks for someone else to do it. I know I can try wrapping the cat up in towel or blanket. But a pro can do it all in just 2-3 minutes.

I agree with the suggestions to find a groomer.

Either bring the cats to the vet for a clip or find a groomer to come to your home.

Not op but some people don't feel confident in their abilities and don't want to hurt their cats and secon their cats don't let them do it either.

I have a friend who does it for me.

Pp here. I had a cat who hated it and I had to wear gloves to do it. But op you can get a groomer or maybe a sitter on rover to come to you.

You don’t need a vet tech, you need a groomer. It took me a while to get used to doing this for my own cat. Until then, I took her over to PetSmart and had it done in their grooming salon. It took maybe 5 minutes total, cost less than $15 and they did a perfectly good job.

Hi all,

I’m looking for a vet tech to come to my home in Mt Pleasant to occasionally cut my two cats’ nails. We are unable to do it ourselves. Any recommendations?
