Totally fine and good to expose him to a different way of thinking about math. FWIW, my son took Calc BC + AP Stats senior year. He got into the math-heavy major he wanted at VT.

Yeah, your kid has obviously been avoiding rigorous math classes. Now is not the time to go wobbly.

My junior is taking it this year (as an elective). He likes it a lot but the writing part has been hard for him. He has always been much stronger in math than writing.

Current junior DC is pretty advanced in math (BC calc in 9th, MV in 10th, Linear Algebra in 11th, and will be taking Number Theory in 12th). He wants to also take Stats next year because he really loves math, but it’s going to be ridiculously easy for him. Will ad coms view this as a cop-out when he could be taking something more rigorous?
