Yup, just another example of how much grade inflation there is when you compare the high average gpa with a relatively low average SAT.

1420 is not low average. The average is around 1030 according to CollgeBoard.

+1

Anyone thinking 1420 is low has lived in the DC bubble too long.

It’s a low average for that GPA. No idea what they do to get those numbers but an UW 4.0 normally would reflect a 34 ACT or over 1500 SAT.

It’s a recalculated weighted GPA, not unweighted. You personally might dislike weighting, but UF evidently believes it is useful.

The UF recalculation is inflated. They weight honors classes +.5 and give +1 weight for any AP classes, while other schools consider AP CS, Research/Seminar as electives. From their website:

Dual-enrollment courses in academic core areas and any AP, IB or AICE classes receive an extra 1.0 credit weight, meaning that an A is worth a 5.0 on a 4.0 scale.

UCLA is a great school but test-blind. So it is an apples and oranges comparison.

Exactly! Bringing up UCLA makes no sense.

Just another example of someone who cannot stand to see UF succeeding.

DS rejected w 4.8, 33 as, lots of EC's. MCPS Luckily into UGA which he preferred and waiting on others

The average SAT score is higher than I expected given that it is not TO.

What counts is averaged of enrolled students. It will be substantially less.

Isn't UCLA Test Blind? University of Florida has always been test required even through Covid (and yet, their application numbers keep growing and their SAT/ACT and GPA averages keep getting higher every year).
