This is really stupid. Who cares if someone wants to live 75 miles away and commute twice per pay period? Why wouldn't agencies just provide an opt-out waiver to the employee that relieves the agency of the commuting cost?

I would be cautious if it's not full remote. Agencies that allowed one day a week in office prior to the pandemic, under Trump, are now requiring 50% in office under Biden. It's a crazy time.

I’m a fed who works in another major east coast city (not DC). I am miserable and want to leave. Jobs explicitly posted for my city, or posted as remote, are of course scarce. I have lots of immediate family in the DC area and it’s easy for me to come there and stay if I need to. Can anyone tell me about agencies who are not fully remote but nonetheless have relaxed enough in-office requirements, like two days a pay period or even less? I know I’d have to eat cost of travel, so ignore that piece for now.
