OP as long as you move to McLean or Vienna and decently close to the Highway it wouldn’t take you that long at all to get to Audrey Moore as it’s right off the exit of 495 and I’ve only heard good things about that site from the families at our summer pool so may be worth checking out.

At that level there really aren’t that many options in the areas OP is targeting. OP is essentially going to have to choose from Machine, NCAP and FISH. OP, I would talk to your current coach about those clubs and also set up a practice session with each club so your swimmer can get a feel for the training at each club.

Seconding this. It's a really big county and no coach is worth 45 minutes each way at 5 am.

Have you chatted with your current coaches? If they are going to Sectionals and other meets like Juniors/Seniors your coach should have a good idea.

I personally would stay away from FISH.

Start emailing teams and ask to come try a few practices out and see the best fit yourself. You want to find the right program fit for your child, i.e., coach and swimmer work well together. Any swimmer can succeed with that.

FISH still the place for distance swimmers.

Where in Fairfax County are you moving to?

We are moving to Fairfax County and wanted to see who the best distance freestyle coaches (teams) are in the area for a high school swimmer with sectional cuts and aspirations to swim in college.
