OP here- I clarified above. Not top 20! UGA vs Wisconsin. UMD a far third.

OP both are good choices! Just meant if pros of one outweigh the other. Would be UGA vs wisconsin vs UMD (last choice)

Yes I do but I am not saying a word because the school he chose is very good and I know I’m in the wrong even feeling this way.

If it's a T40 vs T75 it really doesn't matter

Np. I’m there w/ya.

What if T20 (private) and T35 (OOS flagship)?

Knowing Your kid thrives in small class sizes but kid wants rah rah sporty school atmosphere …. these are lottery hypotheticals bc waiting to hear from T20

+1 why wouldn’t you provide your opinion on their biggest decision yet in their life? I don’t understand op’s perspective at all.

No - we wouldn't have let our kids apply to any school we weren't happy for them to attend.

They don't get on the list, if you harbor any serious concern. Obviously the choice is ok. Any on the list is ok. They are entitled to their own preference.

I'm pretty aligned with my kid, mostly because I didn't wait until now to share my opinions

As someone who was manipulated into staying in state because I thought I was magically tied to their finances, tread lightly. The regret runs high.

What don't you like about the prospective choice? Too far? Not prestigious enough? Too liberal?

DC had no strong opinions and let us influence the college chosen.

I think if he is between two options it is ok to share your opinion
Once they are admitted
OR before they even apply

It's hard not to inject my opinion! He will go visit each one more time as an admitted student but still stressful.
