I can pay whatever. I have a balloon artist I've worked with before, but I'm open to paying someone else's vendors if that would get them to do the actual sourcing and decorating the day of. I like the idea of hiring a friend, but they'll all either be invited to the party or not quite make the guest list and asking them would feel awkward.

The party is in DC and we live in VA so I'd have to rent a hotel room near the venue in order to set up and be ready on time and I'd rather put that money towards a point person.

How much are you willing to pay? Any balloon artist can create a balloon wall or arch for you. Add some colorful runners on your white tables and you are pretty much in business. Don't over do it. One or two large installments and table runners can make a big impact.

I don’t have a specific vision per se but I do have a theme of sorts to launch from. The venue will put tables where I want and drape them with white linens, but that’s pretty much it. I’m up for balloons, flowers, string lights, table design, upgraded linens, serving table decor, whatever. I could do it if it were at my house, but the venue has a window for decorating before the party starts and I’ll need to be getting ready/arriving with my husband.

Most of the event planners I researched appear to work on a much larger scale.

Do you want balloon decorators? those who make a balloon arch etc? Or are you looking for florists who make flower arrangements? Or are you looking for someone to string lights?

Most professional DJs will provide up-lights for the venue that can project designs on the walls, ceilings and floor or just light up the wall.

What are you looking for, specifically, that wouldn't be taken care of by the venue? (and is less intensive than a full-service vent planner?) Seems fairly niche - could you get a friend or hire an assistant to help execute your vision?

Most of the referrals I’ve been given are to full service event planners and that’s more than I need. Any suggestions for venue decorators or does that not exist?
