Sorry but DMV practitioners, in the main, are not conservative/cautious. Not at all.

You should recognize that once your kid is 18 there is no “we.” That is not to say that you can’t have a say if your kid lets you, but they will be an adult. I’m a supportive mom to a trans 18 year old and as soon as she turned 18, all the communication goes to her (or would if she would check her emails). Personally, I would not go with pediatrics if my kid was almost 18 because there are fewer providers that take a lot longer to be seen. My child’s doctor actually suggested she go to an adult provider and we are waiting to see them..couldn’t get appointment until July.

Children's national goes to 17 and has a long wait list. We aged out before we got seen.
