Kids using the N-word and some parents not happy with a perceived inadequate response from the principal.

Applying to HTS next year along with St Agnes. What kind of racism is going on? Is it the kids? Parents? Teachers? Does this happen to other nearby parochial schools?

Some families and teachers left because they do not think she is doing enough about the ongoing racism at the school. It is scary that people think she is being too outspoken about racism-is there even such a thing??

In my experience being in private schools for over 18 years. It is normally liberal view parents v. conservative view parents. Which ones are upset?
10:22 here- I’m guessing the conservative parents. The current principal has been very outspoken about racism.

The parish is very progressive so I would think the school is too? Is that not the case? I know of one GOP family at the school but assumed most were similar to the parish?

Gotcha. So strange so why would that be an issue? Isn't that a good thing unless one of their kids was involved in something?

I would wait and see how many families and kids leave the this year. It is toxic. That is the only real way of knowing.

Current HTS parent here. Drama is to expected in middle school -no matter which school your child attends. There are about 50 students per grade, there are clieques but everyone gets along. We have found the teachers and everyone else in the school to be super helpful -and caring, and involved. Exmissions are strong, a number of students were admitted to elite day and boarding schools last year and again this year. All in all we have been very happy at HTS

Curious how middle school is? What do you like and dislike about school? We would be interested in Georgetown visitation or SjC but don’t want to attend a small school and have drama with the kids in grade. How many kids are in each grade? Welcome any insight
