My son goes to these events and there is a guy running it who checks on anyone making a trade with a child. Just ask someone for help. It's a pretty nice community from what I've experienced.

When he does want to trade, ask for second opinion from other people around the table. People there are very friendly. Esp. those teenagers and their parents, very helpful and eager to tell you how to tell the fakes.

My son is interested in attending pokemon card trading event. He has an album keeping all of his good cards. He asks for pokemon cards at every holiday and birthday for the past 2 years, so he has a good collection of pokemon cards.

My concern is that he & I can't tell if they are good trade or bad trade, real card or fake card etc. All of his cards are real because I have spent hundreds on trusted souces, and they were all new from booster packs and boxes. He would be devastated if he finds out that he gets fake cards or bad trade in return. He is going to attend one, and age groups are not restricted. Normally I stay out and let him do whatever he wants with his pokemon cards. Since it is a public event, I may want to stay close and keep an eye out for him. What could I do as a parent?
