Weigh at home and call the authorities if it doesn't match. Same phone number printed on the gas station pumps

Who knows if the scale register is correct?

Park Potomac Teeter hasn't had a scale in produce for forever. They claim one is on order. That was months ago. I take my produce to the register to weigh. Pain in the ass.

Maybe but they technically do have a scale, at the register. Maybe I’ll bring them a ton of produce and have them weigh it all for me.

Not 3 russet potatoes, those weighed almost 3 pounds. I had to get 2. and that was 1.7 pounds.

A grocery store that sells loose items by weight should have a scale conveniently located so that shoppers can weigh their items, so that there are no surprises when they have to pay for their items.
That said, I never weigh items in the store when I'm shopping, it is a time suck. If I need to weigh something for a recipe I just weigh out the quantity using my kitchen scale.

I complained about that in the Bethesda store recently too. Very annoying

Yes the 4 pack of potatoes was $4, which I thought was crazy high. 3 potatoes weighed almost 3 pounds at the register - I only needed 1 pound so I told the guy to remove one potato. What a waste.

I was looking for one yesterday at the arlington location. They had a 4 pack of sweet potatoes for $5 or I wanted 4 for $1.29 a lb. I was annoyed.

I frequent the HT in Bethesda. There is no scale in this store. I ask them about it and they take my stuff to the back of the store to weigh. Why would they get rid of it? Does your local grocery store have a scale? Is this a new trend? My husband doesn't understand why I care - don't we all have recipes that call for a certain weight of produce? I can't eyeball one pound of potatoes!
