Depending on where you live, seasonal stink bugs are just something that happens. They’re basically impossible to keep out of your house because they can fit in under the weather stripping of your doors, around the damper door of your chimney, down your bathroom vent, etc etc. But, if you don’t live where they’re plentiful, I doubt you will see a ton just because you squashed one.

I'm OP and not a troll. Google it - if you squish a stink bug, it emits a strong smelly pheromone that apparently draws *more* stink bugs.

It's my first time seeing one in our home, so I just want to know if I made a bug problem worse. Why on earth do you think someone would troll a home bug question?

I've never seen a stink bug in our home, but saw one last night for the first time (thanks cat, for alerting me to its presence). I immediately squished it and put it in the trash, then took the trash out early this morning.

Google tells me that this is precisely the wrong thing to do, as the stink will draw a whole bunch more stink bugs. Is this our destiny now?
