Stay out of this, Jeff. We don't all get to live in Upper NW like you do.

Wrong part of the neighborhood. Stay on topic.

OP is expressing frustration at living in a crime-ravaged community, not at the police themselves. Stop being purposefully obtuse. It’s not cute.

Exactly. And it’s not cute at all. It’s very dickish.

The only criticism I have for the police is that my neighbor certainly didn’t get this kind of response when he was shot while being carjacked at pretty much the same place. An hour after it happened there was no clue anything had even occurred. We certainly didn’t have 200 police cars and a tank and swat teams and dogs and snipers and guys in camouflage with machineguns. But my neighbor wasn’t a cop, so I guess ordinary peons like us don’t merit a war mobilization.

Your snark is noted tho.

It’s Charles Allen that doesn’t want the police to respond.

Are you saying that the OP is an Allen supporter?

I don’t understand why we haven’t authorized emergency powers yet

They lucked out he didn’t have a scooter, and atv or a car to ride off into the sunset while the police watches due to the no chase policy

From what I gather, a DC Housing Authority officer was shot this morning by the Harris Teeter. Now the whole place looks like a Micheal Bay movie. There’s police everywhere, helicopters flying circles, police tape strung all over. No one can get into or out of our building, everything is shut down for blocks.

My neighbor was shot last summer during a carjacking almost directly across the intersection from where this happened today. There wasn’t this type of police response then. That’s some bulls**t.

I’m so over this whole place place.
